with his wife, Monica, three children, and Labrador retriever. His hobbies include home improvement, beer making, sporting clays shooting, cycling, sailing, and he has won athletic prizes in odd racquet sports.

Her volunteer experience includes serving as member and president of the Turtle Team, a veterinary student-run wildlife medicine and rehabilitation service, participating in shelter early spay/neuter program and assisting with kitten-raising for Second Chance Pet Adoptions while in veterinary school. She also assisted at the HSUS Flood Disaster Shelter in 1999 for animal victims of the Hurricane Floyd flooding of eastern
North Carolina

with two border collies and an Australian kelpie. In her free time, she enjoys competing with her dogs in flyball and agility. Other hobbies include clay sculpting, woodworking and swing dancing.
